Auditions - Spring 2026
We are announcing auditions for specific roles, covers, and ensemble for our upcoming production of Tosca, as well as for other productions in our future season.
Auditions will be held on March 19th from 2:00–8:00 PM at:

Roles, covers & ensemble for Tosca:
Floria Tosca — Cover
Mario Cavaradossi — Principal & Cover
Baron Scarpia — Cover
Cesare Angelotti — Principal & Cover
A Sacristan — Cover
Spoletta — Principal & Cover
Sciarrone — Principal & Cover (also performs as Jailer in Act III)
Shepherd Boy — Principal & Cover soprano/ mezzo/ countertenor (also appearing in the ensemble both nights)
Production Schedule
Rehearsal period: start April 20 (details provided upon casting)
Staged performances with chamber orchestra:
May 6 — Nichols Hall
May 8 — Nichols Hall
Comp & Opportunities
Principal roles are paid positions (modest compensation as we are a startup non-profit company).
Covers and ensemble members are study opportunities with required ensemble participation when not covering.
All covers will perform in a dedicated cover run with a piano at the end of the rehearsal process.
This is a wonderful opportunity for artists at the beginning of their careers to gain valuable stage experience.
Audition Requirements
Please prepare two arias:
One aria by Giacomo Puccini or Giuseppe Verdi (any Italian composer if auditioning for ensemble only)
One 19-21 century aria in German, Russian, or French.
During the audition, we may:
Stop you early
Hear only one aria
Ask you to perform both arias.
Please sing your Italian aria first. If you are interested in being cast for a specific role, please sing the aria of this character or a similar piece
Audition results will be communicated via email shortly after the audition.
If offered a position, you will have 2–3 business days to accept before we move to the waitlist.
Important Notes
We are not covering transportation or accommodation expenses.
Chicago-area singers are preferred.
We have only one day of auditions and auditions will not be rescheduled or canceled.
