Children's Choir Spring 2026 - New Student
Children’s Choir Auditions — Tosca
We are currently auditioning children for the children’s choir for our production of Tosca, one of the most iconic works of the world operatic repertoire, taking place May 6 and May 8 in Nichols Hall in Evanston, IL.
Age requirement: 6–12 years
Participants will participate in:
10 hours of preparation rehearsals including:
1 rehearsal with orchestra
1 general rehearsal (in costume with orchestra)
2 performances.
Children will work with top professionals in the music field and develop skills in:
Singing
Italian language
Acting and movement
During the first lessons, children will learn about the composer Giacomo Puccini and the piece they will perform.
Costume included in the program fee
Each parent receives one free ticket for each performance
Rehearsal Locations
Initial rehearsals: Fine Arts Building
Starting April 26: Roosevelt University building on Michigan Avenue (room number will be sent in the email)
May 3, May 4, and both performances: Nichols Hall

April 26 — Music rehearsal + rehearsal with director, 1–3 pm
Thursday, April 30 — Music rehearsal + rehearsal with director, 6–7:30 pm
Saturday, May 2 — Music rehearsal + rehearsal with director, 6–7:30 pm
Sunday, May 3 — Nichols Hall rehearsal with orchestra, 6–7:30 pm
Monday, May 4 — Nichols Hall general rehearsal in costumes, 6–8 pm
May 6 — Performance
May 8 — Performance
One additional run-through rehearsal may be added (TBA).
Attendance Policy
You may miss no more than two preparation rehearsals.
Attendance at the general rehearsal on May 4 is mandatory.
Program Fee
The full program cost (rehearsals, costumes, performances): $360
35% discount for a second child from the same family
Casting is limited to 12 children
Please pick this option if you have never sang with our choir before.
We will review your application and contact you. If your child is accepted into the program, we will provide a payment link.
